This is it, the moment we’ve all been waiting for, if you were too lazy to read the title of this post, my favourite Christmas movie is…..
Mickey’s Christmas Carol (1983)
Here’s a brief plot overview:
This amazing little short film by legend Walt Disney, is a perfect little homage to Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Despite the fact that this film was made many years before I was born, me and my sister have watched it almost every year that we’ve been alive. At first we watched it on a recorded VHS at Grandma and Grandad’s and then they lost it and it took us years to track down a DVD and now they’re everywhere, so yay for us!
It follows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge (Scrooge McDuck) who only thinks about himself and money. He has one employee, Bob Cratchit (Mickey Mouse), who is severely underpaid and has to support his family, including sick son, Tiny Tim.
On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is haunted by his dead partner Jacob Marley (Goofy) and is then visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future. These visits scare Scrooge into becoming a good and generous duck.
Even though it only goes for around 26 minutes, I’m still classing it as a Christmas “movie”.
Everyone should watch it because it’s fantastic!!
